One in four children under the age of 5 do not sleep well, today is the world Day of sleep

Sleep disorders are a problem even for a child over 4 under 5 years of age and 10-12% of those over the age of 6 years

The denounce, on the occasion of the world day of sleep which is celebrated today, the 15th of march, the specialists of the Italian Society of Neuropsychiatry of Childhood and Adolescence (Sinpia). The small quantity and poor quality of sleep – they say – have important repercussions both on the quality of life of children, both on that of their parents, which are subjected to significant stress and are at risk of developing health problems, such as depression. In the child, one of the most serious consequences are disorders of cognitive-behavioural (decrease in school performance, learning disorders, reduced working memory), problems related to daytime sleepiness (inattention, accidental trauma), and obesity.
