And this is the alarming emerged at the first international Conference on food security that opened in Addis Ababa and organized by Fao, Who and the african Union.

Diseases related to contamination of foods, to warn the international organizations, “overwhelm the health care systems of Weights and cause considerable damage to the economy, commerce and tourism”.

For this, experts of the Fao (United Nations Organization for food and agriculture), the Who (world health Organization) and the AU (African Union), the “food safety must be the key objective at each stage of the food chain, from production to harvesting, processing, conservation, distribution and consumption”. Efforts to strengthen the food safety systems at the global level, they argue, are “fragmented, despite the food security plays a fundamental role in the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development”.

“This Conference – said the director-general of Fao, José Graziano da Silva – is a great opportunity for the international community to strengthen political commitments and undertake key actions. Safeguard food is a shared responsibility and we must all do our part, working together to make the maputo food security a priority, he concluded, “in the agendas of national and international policy”. .
